Atkins Plumbing & Gas recently completed a commercial plumbing and amenities upgrade at Level 4, 28 Honeysuckle Drive, Newcastle. Delivered over five months for NF Corval and SHAPE Australia, the project included sanitary drainage, new water services, amenities alterations and complete fixture installation and commissioning.
Sanitary Drainage and Water Services
The sanitary drainage works included two HYLIFT-70 sullage pump-out units, approximately 30 metres of 32mm pipework and 12 metres of 50mm aerial drainage. We also installed new drainage points for two kitchen sinks, two dishwashers and a tundish, along with an air admittance valve, stack connection, core-drilled penetrations and fire collars.
New cold-water services included approximately 44 metres of 20mm Rehau pipework and water points for the kitchen sinks and dishwashers. An isolation valve, pressure limiting valve and FloodGuard valve were also installed.
Commercial Amenities Upgrade
Our team altered the water services for one shower, five basins, eight toilets and two urinals. Drainage alterations were also completed for the basins and urinals, with the existing fixtures carefully removed before the new fit-out commenced.
The completed installation included:
- Eight wall-faced toilets
- Two urinal suites
- Five basins
- Two double-bowl kitchen sinks
- Two dishwashers
- Two Zip HydroTap units
- Wall-mounted sensor taps
- An accessible shower
- Grab rails, a shower seat and accessible bathroom fixtures
- Tile-insert floor wastes
- A thermostatic mixing valve in a lockable enclosure
All plumbing fixtures and services were tested and commissioned. Pipework labelling, Inspection and Test Plans, manuals and as-built documentation were also completed as part of the final handover.
This project demonstrates the capability of Atkins Plumbing & Gas to deliver detailed commercial plumbing fit-outs and amenities upgrades throughout Newcastle and the Hunter region.
